Cleaning (4)      Organize (3)      Chores (1)
Our home life can be so hectic these days with work, school, and extracurricular activities that it seems too difficult to organize your home life. Well, that’s not the case at all. It’s going to take a commitment and time to sort through the mess, but once we are done, we will have an organized home life.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Tip 1: Write everything down and don’t rely on your memory. If you want to remember things, make a daily to-do list, write information in your planner, or put it in a digital notebook. Keeping your information written somewhere allows you to look back at it anytime as a reminder or to check the item off as complete.

Tip 2: Clean up regularly and allot certain hours of day to declutter, sort, organize, and clean. It doesn’t have to be a large chunk of time either, 15 to 30 minutes a day should be enough time. Doing this will take time, but after a while you’ll see how easy it is to find what you need when everything in your place has a home.

Tip 3: Keep the hotspots free of clutter and trash. Hotspots can be the kitchen sink, kitchen counter, dining room table, night stand, bedroom drawers, desk, couch, stairs, walkway, or closets. Take note of these places and clean them up daily.

Tip 4: Recycle and donate. If you have clothes or shoes that are not being worn, you can donate them to your local donation centers. If you have books that you are willing to donate, donate them to your local library or school. If you have kids, check the toys to see if you can donate the unused toys to a local shelter.

Tip 5: Learn how to delegate cleaning and organizing tasks amongst the family. Don’t be afraid to assign kids some tasks too so they can feel a part of the process.

Now, you have the tips to help you get started with organizing your home life, you have no excuse. Make a plan and make it happen. Remember, it is a team effort, so everyone in the home should have a task to complete. Finally, this is an ongoing effort so spread your projects out accordingly with no added stress! Happy Cleaning!
