When choosing to live a healthy lifestyle, we often struggle with making healthy food choices during the weekend. There are a lot more food temptations and restaurant outings to avoid. It seems as though our willpower has left our very presence. Without following a set schedule and more opportunities for temptation to set in, one weekend can easily undo a whole week of workout commitments and healthy habits.

Here’s some valuable tips to help change your unhealthy weekend habits:

• Tip 1 – Squeeze in a longer workout and get more activity in without feeling rushed.

• Tip 2 – Continue to eat meals on schedule like it’s a week day and pack snacks for when you’re on the go.

• Tip 3 – Stick to your usual sleep schedule even on the weekend.

• Tip 4 – Get outdoors if weather permits to boost your body’s productive of vitamin D.

• Tip 5 – Limit your unhealthy drinks, such as soda, beer and juice. Drink water instead.

• Tip 6 – Plan some time for relaxation to practice your favorite hobby, seeing a movie, reading a good book, or even meditating quietly.

• Tip 7 – Break the on-again, off-again diet mentality. Revisit your goals and recommit to making healthy choices every day that set you up for success in the long term.

• Tip 8 – Plan for the week ahead. Wash and prepare your workout clothes, packing your gym bag, and getting prepared for workouts.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle during the weekend is possible, but you need to properly plan ahead. Follow these valuable tips to get on a healthy track and revisit them to stay healthy for many more weekends to come!
