Every home needs a good kitchen Spring cleaning. Listed below are a few tips to help get you motivated, inspired and ready to begin!
First, empty the shelves. With a little bleach and a bucket of water with a sponge, wipe the shelves good. Toss out expired food and anything else you do not want. Replace in an organized manner what is good.
Do NOT use bleach. Instead with a little dish liquid, water and sponge, wipe inside and outside.
Under The Sink
If you have tons of stuffed crammed underneath there, get a garbage bag first. Do a process of elimination. Toss unused and expired items. Then, re-organize what is really only needed after wiping clean with soapy water and sponge.
The kitchen drawers can become drawers for anything imaginable. Pitch gadgets first that have accumulated. Remove utencils and donate cookbooks that you really do not use. Go through dish clothes and dish towels and eliminate those torn and/or with holes. Wipe clean with soapy water and sponge. Want a little nice touch? Line drawers with a pretty kitchen-matching liner/shelf paper.
For the grand finale, if you have a carpeted kitchen floor, use the sweeper with some good smelling Carpet Fresh. If you have linoleum, give a good sweep with a broom, then definitely use some Pine-Sol with a mop. This will give your kitchen a nice fresh smell.
Finally, instead of doing this once a year (LOL), do it more often. Your kitchen will seem inviting to you and family.
This may be common sense but sometimes we need to be reminded when schedules are hectic, we put things off or just like I said...We need to be reminded!
